This Mother’s Day, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a beautiful family session for Kelsey, her sweet kids, and her mom. It was such a special way for them to celebrate the day together—three generations all in one frame!

We met at Sycamore Lane in Ellerbe, which was the perfect backdrop for this kind of session. The trees were full and green, the light was golden and soft, and there was just the right mix of open space and cozy spots to get some really natural, joyful moments.

Kelsey’s kids were full of energy and smiles, and it was so sweet watching them love on their mama and grandma. You could tell this family shares such a close bond—lots of laughter, a few silly faces, and plenty of hugs. I think my favorite moments were the ones where no one was trying too hard—just enjoying each other and being in the moment.

Kelsey wanted this session to be a gift not just for her mom, but also for herself—to freeze time just a little and remember this season of life. I love that. As a photographer, those are the moments I live for: the ones that tell a real story, filled with love and connection.
