You're finally engaged and the whirlwind of wedding planning has officially begun! One of the first checkboxes as a newly-engaged couple is your engagement photos. But where do you even begin?! Here are a few answers to the most commonly asked questions I receive about engagement sessions.
How far in advance do we need engagement photos?
Depending on what you want to use your photos for can help you decide how far in advance you need your photos taken. For example, if you are wanting to use your photos for Save the Date cards, you may want them done earlier. As a general guideline, I recommend six months to one year before your wedding date.
What should we wear?
Most couples usually choose two outfits depending on their shoot location. You may want to choose one casual and one formal outfit. Flowing fabrics create a beautiful silhouette that also captures natural movement.
What is the best time of year for engagement photos?
Engagement sessions can take place at any time of year, so consider what type of background and attire you love and best suit you. You will also want to take in to consideration time changes and sunset times if you are limited on weekend and afternoon times. If you have your session in winter, you will likely need to start your session between 3:00-3:30 pm.
