Happy Mother's Day

There is so much to be said about mother's. They are the first face we meet as a baby, the first hands that hold our own and the first smile we meet. They give themselves completely up for their children- physically, mentally, and emotionally. Most of the time, this is done with very little to no thanks or recognition. They spend their days working and providing, loving and kissing, fixing and mending. Their nights are spent rocking and swaddling, worrying and thinking, hoping and praying. It's a never-ending job. A job that no one else tends to notice or recognize until the title of "mom" is placed by their own name.

Once I became a mom, I "got it". All the years I spent not understanding why my mom did certain things or felt certain ways.... it all became clear! I looked back and realized just how amazing my mom really was! She worked full-time to help provide for us financially, yet she was also at every single special event, graduation, and school activity. She was up before the sun so we would have a hot breakfast every. single. day before school, yet she also was the last in bed every night. I'd find her every morning in her office reading the Bible, and I'd listen to her pray every time she backed the car out of the driveway.

Growing up, we just viewed it as normal "mom" stuff... But looking back, we realize just how much work and effort mom poured into every single moment of every single day. She raised us with intention and purpose. Now surrounded by her two grown daughters, sons-in-law, and six grandchildren, I can see the Scriptures played out and fulfilled before my eyes.

Proverbs 31:28 "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates."

Today, and always, mom you are praised! Praised for the Godly mother and wife you have been. I love you!
