It's only the middle of July, but with so much uncertainty about the future of education, it seems that "back to school" is at the forefront of everyone's mind. There are so many decisions to be made and questions to be asked, especially for those scheduled to graduate this coming spring. Regardless of how your school year or graduation may look, this is one of the most special years in your teen's life! Having a Senior Portrait session is a great way to document this special time and make your Senior feel proud of their accomplishments and hard work.
When is the best time to take Senior photos?
If you are wanting to use the photos for yearbook and graduation purposes, you will need to have your senior photos done before graduation! The most popular months are from June until September. The summer months are excellent because students are out of school and typically have a free schedule. Fall months are also great for senior photos since it will be cooler and the leaves will be more colorful. However, sports, school events, and seasonal time change can often make this season more challenging.
How many outfits should I bring?
Every senior session will have a minimum of two outfits: what you choose to wear to the shoot, plus the cap and gown. You may choose to bring additional outfits, simply keep in mind how much extra time you will need and where you will be able to change depending on your venue.
Should I bring props?
Meaningful props are welcomed and can add individuality to your session. All props should symbolize a meaningful part of who are. For example, this may include sports equipment, team apparel, or other items of special interest. You may also bring graduation items such as your diploma (or cover), cords, and badges.
