Tristen + Evan

Sometimes wedding days come together in ways you never expect.

Just a few weeks before their August 1 wedding, Tristen reached out after she and Evan had been ghosted by their original wedding photographer. My heart immediately broke for them. Planning a wedding is stressful enough without having to find a new photographer just weeks before the big day. After talking with Tristen, I knew I wanted to help however I could.

Looking back now, I truly believe everything worked out exactly the way it was meant to.

Their wedding day was held at The Farm at 42 in Selma, North Carolina. I had photographed another wedding there back in May, so I was excited to be back. It is such a gorgeous venue with so many beautiful locations for portraits, and it was the perfect backdrop for their summer wedding. The best part of the day, though, wasn't the venue. It was Tristen and Evan.

From the moment I arrived, they were so kind, easygoing, and completely focused on what the day was really about. After everything they had gone through in the weeks leading up to the wedding, they chose joy. They soaked in every moment with their family and friends, laughed often, and never let the circumstances steal their excitement.

Watching them become husband and wife was such a privilege. One of my favorite moments was seeing their faces as they walked back down the aisle together. You could almost see the relief that everything had come together, followed by so much excitement for the new chapter they were beginning.

One of the things I love most about photographing weddings is getting to witness stories like theirs. Not every wedding journey goes exactly as planned, but sometimes those unexpected turns lead you exactly where you are supposed to be. I will always be thankful that Tristen reached out when she did.

Tristen and Evan, thank you for trusting me with such an important day. It was an honor to celebrate alongside you, and I hope these photographs always remind you of how much love surrounded you as you began your marriage together.
