Rebecca + Jeffrey

Some wedding days don’t go exactly as planned, and Jeffrey and Rebecca’s wedding day was a perfect reminder that the most beautiful moments often happen when you let go of the plans and simply enjoy the day.

Last Saturday, I had the honor of photographing Jeffrey and Rebecca as they said “I do” in Statesville, North Carolina. The rain never seemed to want to let up, which meant adjusting our timeline and changing plans throughout the day. But these two were nothing but flexible, gracious, and excited to finally be celebrating the day they had been waiting for.

One of my favorite moments of the day was their first look on the front porch of their home. There was something so sweet and personal about sharing that moment in a place that means so much to them. Before the ceremony and all the excitement of the day unfolded, they got to pause and simply be together. Those are the moments I love getting to document most.

Of course, the rain meant we had to make a few changes along the way, but Jeffrey and Rebecca reminded me that a wedding day isn't about perfect weather or sticking to a perfectly planned timeline. It's about the two people at the center of it all, the promises they're making, and the people who show up to celebrate alongside them.

Jeffrey and Rebecca, thank you for trusting me to capture such a special day in your lives. I hope that when you look back at these photographs, you remember not the rain or the changes in plans, but the joy, the excitement, and the feeling of finally getting to marry your person. Your wedding day was beautiful in its own way, and I am so grateful I got to be a part of it.

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Hurley! Here's to a lifetime of love, laughter, and choosing each other through every kind of weather.
