There’s something extra special about photographing a wedding where you already know so many of the faces in the room. Last Friday’s wedding for Lexie and Cannon at The Farm at 42 felt exactly like that — full of joy, meaningful moments, and the kind of celebration that reminds you why weddings are so special in the first place.

I first met Lexie when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed last year, so walking into this day already felt familiar in the best way. Seeing past couples, wedding party members, and family friends again made the entire day feel warm and connected from the very beginning.

One of the sweetest moments of the day happened before the ceremony. Instead of doing a traditional first look, Lexie and Cannon chose to share private vows together without actually seeing each other. Tucked around the corner from one another, they exchanged personal words and took a quiet moment together before the excitement of the day fully began. It was emotional, intimate, and such a beautiful reminder that the wedding day is really about the marriage at the center of it all.

The entire day at The Farm at 42 was stunning, but the reception may have been everyone’s favorite part of the night. The live band, The Switch, kept the dance floor packed all evening and brought so much energy to the celebration. You could tell how important the music and atmosphere were to Lexie and Cannon, and their guests absolutely matched that energy from the first song to the last.

Another unforgettable detail was the vintage Cadillac brought in during the reception for portraits. The car, a beautiful 1940s Cadillac, held special meaning because Lexie’s parents had a similar car at their own wedding years ago. Incorporating that family connection into the day made the portraits feel even more meaningful and timeless.

From heartfelt private vows to a packed dance floor and sentimental family touches, Lexie and Cannon’s wedding day was such a perfect reflection of who they are together — joyful, intentional, and surrounded by people who love them deeply. It was such an honor to document every part of it.
