Lexie + Cannon Engagement

I had the best time with Lexie and Cannon last weekend during their sunset engagement session at Holden Beach! These two are so easygoing and fun to be around—it honestly felt more like hanging out with friends than work.

Lexie and Cannon are newly engaged and already deep into planning their May wedding. Lexie is actually one of the bridesmaids in a fall wedding I’ll be photographing, so I was already excited to see her again soon… but getting to capture this sweet season of life for her made it even more special.

We wandered barefoot in the sand, chasing golden light and dodging waves. The way they laugh together made everything feel effortless. Speaking of laughing—they shared the funniest story about how their relationship started. Apparently, Lexie turned Cannon down multiple times before finally agreeing to go out with him. The persistence paid off, clearly! And honestly, I couldn’t help but laugh because my husband and I have such a similar story. Sometimes the best love stories take a few tries to get going!

I’m already counting down the days until their wedding next spring. It’s going to be beautiful, no doubt, but what I’m most excited for is getting to photograph a couple who is so clearly in love and knows how to have fun through it all.
