Kayleigh + Jaydon

This past Saturday, I had the honor of photographing the sweetest wedding day for Kayleigh and Jaydon Matthews. From the moment I arrived at Halyburton Park in Wilmington, I knew it was going to be one of those days that sticks with you.

Kayleigh and Jaydon are high school sweethearts, and their love has that kind of quiet strength and deep connection that only comes with time. They exchanged private vows before the ceremony—just the two of them (and me, with happy tears behind the lens). It was an incredibly emotional moment, full of heartfelt promises and joyful anticipation for the life they’re building together.

Kayleigh wore the most meaningful detail: the necklace her mom wore on her wedding day. Her mom passed away when Kayleigh was a child, and seeing her carry that piece of her mother with her was such a touching tribute. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight when her dad saw her for their first look, either. The bond they share was so special to witness, and capturing that quiet moment between them was truly one of my favorite parts of the day.

After a beautiful ceremony surrounded by towering trees and sunshine at Halyburton Park, we made our way to the reception at Pine Valley Country Club—where Jaydon works as a chef! The food was, of course, absolutely incredible, and the atmosphere was full of love and laughter.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening came during the speeches. Kayleigh’s sisters brought the house down with stories that had everyone doubled over laughing one minute and reaching for tissues the next. It was the perfect reflection of the day: emotional, joyful, and deeply personal.

Kayleigh and Jaydon, thank you for letting me be part of your love story. Your day was beautiful, but more importantly, it was you—real, sweet, and full of heart.
