A Heartfelt Fourth of July

The Fourth of July has always been one of my favorite holidays—not just for the fireworks or the red, white, and blue everything, but for what it reminds me of: how grateful I am for the simple, meaningful things in life.

Every year, we head to the same place to celebrate the Fourth—it's become one of our favorite family traditions. There’s something comforting about going back to a familiar spot, making the same memories in new ways as the kids grow, and reconnecting with what matters most. It’s a chance to slow down, take a deep breath, and enjoy time together without the usual distractions.

It’s days like this that remind me how lucky I am—not just to live in a place where we can celebrate our freedom, but to be surrounded by people I love. Life gets so busy sometimes, and I don’t always pause to take it all in. But on holidays like this, it feels a little easier to soak it all up and be fully present.

I’m thankful for the little things: sticky popsicle fingers, sun-warmed cheeks, sparklers held tight in tiny hands. I’m thankful for my home, my health, and this country we get to raise our kids in. Most of all, I’m thankful for the people who make life sweet—my family, my friends, and the community I get to serve through this small business of mine.

However you spent your Fourth, I hope it was filled with joy, laughter, and a few quiet moments to reflect. Happy Independence Day, from my family to yours.
