McLean Family

A few weeks ago, I had the sweetest time meeting up with the McLean family in Ellerbe for another round of photos — and this session was extra special for so many reasons. About six months ago, we were in this very same spot celebrating baby Madelyn’s 6-month milestone session. She was full of giggles, chubby cheeks, and that sweet baby curiosity that made photographing her such a joy. Fast forward to now — Madelyn has officially turned one, and she’s already on the move, flashing that big smile and showing off her adorable personality!

This time, though, there was even more to celebrate. Along with marking Madelyn’s first birthday, the McLeans had a special announcement to share — Madelyn is going to be a big sister! I absolutely love when families include meaningful news like this in their sessions. There’s something so heartwarming about capturing the excitement and love that surrounds a growing family. The McLeans were glowing with happiness, and little Madelyn, of course, stole the show as usual.

The fall light in Ellerbe that evening was just perfect — soft, golden, and dreamy — the kind that makes every image feel warm and full of life. It’s the kind of light that feels made for moments like these: a family laughing together, parents beaming with pride, and a little one discovering the world around her.

I’ve said it before, but it’s one of my favorite parts of photography — getting to watch families grow and being invited back to capture each new chapter. From maternity to newborn to first birthdays and beyond, it’s such an honor to preserve these memories that tell the story of a family’s journey.
