Spivey Family

Springtime in Pinehurst is always something special, and this year’s mini sessions at the Village Arboretum were no exception! I had the absolute joy of photographing the Spivey family, and their session was filled with sunshine, laughter, and one very happy little boy.

From the moment we started, their son was full of energy and big smiles. He loved running around the gardens and exploring the space—there’s something about that fresh spring air that just brings out the best in kids! But what really stole the show was his sweet bond with his grandmother, who was helping behind the scenes. Every time she peeked out or made a funny face, he would light up with the biggest grin. It made capturing those natural, joyful moments so easy and so heartwarming.

Erika, his mom, looked absolutely beautiful and brought her own touch of wedding industry magic to the session—she’s a talented makeup artist who helps brides look and feel their best on their big day. And her husband, a dedicated member of law enforcement, brought such a steady, calm presence to our time together. You can really feel the love and support within this family, and it was an honor to document that for them.

The Village Arboretum gave us the perfect spring backdrop—lush greens, soft blooms, and golden light filtering through the trees. It was the kind of session that reminded me exactly why I love what I do.
